Peri-peri sauce, from Nando's to ghost pepper

Peri-peri is the African bird's eye chilli and the sauce built on it: chilli, lemon, garlic and vinegar, hot but bright rather than heavy. Nando's made it famous; South Africa made it a pantry staple. Every peri-peri sauce, marinade and spice we stock is on this page, shipped across Canada from Barrie.

Nando's, the whole heat ladder

Medium, Hot, Extra Hot and Extra Extra Hot, plus Lemon & Herb and Garlic for people who want the flavour without the fight, and the Mozambican paprika bottle for something in between. Same bottles as the restaurant, same as home.

Nando's

Steers, Fynbos and the rest

Steers peri-peri is the burger-shop version, Fynbos makes a ghost pepper peri-peri for people who think Nando's Extra Extra Hot is a starting point, Ina Paarman's marinade is the one for the braai, and Spillers peri-peri oil goes on everything.

Peri-peri and biltong

Our chilli biltong is cured with the same idea. Made in our Barrie butchery from Ontario beef, it ships in the box with the sauces.

Frequently asked questions

What is peri-peri sauce?

A hot sauce built on the African bird's eye chilli, with lemon, garlic and vinegar. It is sharper and brighter than most chilli sauces, which is why it works as a marinade as well as a table sauce.

Can I buy Nando's peri-peri sauce in Canada?

Yes. We stock the full Nando's range in Barrie, Ontario, from Lemon & Herb to Extra Extra Hot, and ship it anywhere in Canada.

Which Nando's sauce is the hottest?

Extra Extra Hot. Extra Hot is one step down, Hot and Medium are the everyday bottles, and Lemon & Herb has almost no heat at all.

What is the difference between peri-peri and piri-piri?

Nothing. Piri-piri is the Portuguese spelling and peri-peri the South African one. Same chilli, same sauce.
